Ludomancy Arena

Updated: May 15, 2020

A Ludomancy Arena is a magical area designated for playing ludomancy. Lands for Arenas are often selected for the amount of magical power that can be find there, as well as the abundance of gems available that may be empowered by ludomancy play. OWL League requires that an Arena must have exactly three paths, and that each path contain between 1 and 3 gems for scoring.

Path Types

Every path in a Ludomancy Arena will fall into one of 3 main categories. Certain magicians are proficient in traversing specific path types. Magicians that are found on paths that they are not proficient in will be cursed.

Variations

While restricted to the 3 path format and 3 path types, there are many variations that are possible to various Ludomancy Arenas. OWL League regulations allow for any arena to have as many or as little of a given path type. For example, an arena may consist of one(1) mountain path, two(2) valley paths, and zero(0) plain paths.

Additionally paths may have one sub type that can affect magicians that traverse the path and provide them either a gift or a curse.
